Yes, I have been missing for the last few weeks. Forgive me. It has been a roller coater of highs and lows in life, and if you are a mom, you know when your kids need you, you drop everything and go…. and time passes. Deadlines get missed and blogs get pushed off.
I have been back and forth to Baltimore quite a few times in the last few weeks, but I am back now and happily looking forward to logging hours in front of the easel.
One of the wonderful reasons I have been non-communicato has been the release of my daughters’ debut novel with Penguin Random House and with McMillian in the UK! Yes! My daughter is a published author now. I could not be more proud. I am afraid I have been under a gag order from her (and her agent) for the last few years about the progress of the book, but now that it is out I can talk about how good it is and how cool it was to attend her official book launch this past weekend. The book is so good! I also got to see all my kids and my grandson! It was so wonderful to have everyone together.
Here is the link to her book on Amazon, but it is available at Walmart and Target and at Barnes and Nobles as well. “In Case I Go Missing” by R.N.Swann.
Here are some pics from the book signing and interview last weekend at the Greedy Reads Bookstore in Baltimore. The book is also out in the UK now as well.
So there have been other things going on too… like I have two big moves coming up next month! I will be moving into a brand-new studio located at Beacon Studios in West Greenville. It will be much bigger and in a wonderful location in a newly-restored church with 8 other artists. I will have an Open House soon and I hope you can pop by then. I am also moving into a different loft apartment in my beloved cotton mill and both are still within walking distance of each other. More on that along with my travel and teaching calender for the next year coming soon.
Like I said, when my kids needed me I dropped and ran. No sense hashing things out here, but all my kids are good now and so that means I am good too. So back to work! And, of course, back to the blog every week. Until the next crazy thing life throws at me and and I have to decide where to spend my time. Chat soon.
