Last week I ran a 3-day workshop in Asheville, North Carolina in the Blue Ridge Mountains just north of Greenville. There are still many businesses there recovering from Hurricane Helene last Fall and I wanted to help one out so I booked an entire lodge during the week. I took 11 artists to the Bent Creek Lodge Bed and Breakfast. It was absolutely gorgeous and the food was a-may-zing! (Creme Brulee French Toast anyone?) During the day we painted at the North Carolina Arboretum and at night I taught lessons on light and even painted a night scene of the lodge. I even sold one of my demos from the arboretum to a passerby from Arizona. I now have new friends from Pennsylvania, Tennesee and Kentucky. Some of my demos are below…
So, since it was so successful and SO much fun I am doing it again. Asheville 2.0.
This time I booked the lodge for prime leaf-turning time. The owner luckily had 8 rooms available for October 10-12. So I grabbed them up and am taking 7 artists back to the Bent Creek Lodge.
Want to be one?
Cost for 3 nights and 3 days with breakfasts and all instruction and demos is $1200. The lodge is a bit more expensive during this month, but totally worth it. I can not wait to go back up there again while the leaves are turning.

Christine, how wonderful that you were able to spend time and make such beautiful art to mark a memorable trip. Happy For You! This would be a great opportunity for any Artists at any level.
🙂
Hey Christine,
Are you going to be doing life drawing again? Several of us are interested in coming.
Im traveling too much right now. Maybe in 2026. I had to cancel the meetup group. They wanted $400 a year for just posting the group.
That sounds fabulous. I used to live in Asheville. I had an open studio in the River Arts District. My former home was wiped out during Helaine. There are terrific artists in Asheville. I wish I could come in October.
Hi Christina,
I might be interested in your trip back to NC. It sounds great!
Can you send me more information on the workshops and lodging.
‘Thanks Liz
You bet!
Wow, your work looks amazing,!best of luck acquiring more students. I’m teaching again at CCAC. Your scenery down there is beautiful.
