I think Hope is like waiting for a meal when we are hungry. We expect something good to come our way. But our expectations can be shattered like a china plate.

This time I didn’t put the pieces back together exactly. In traditional kintsugi, the pieces are carefully put back together in exactly the same spot. But here I liked having the pieces of the plate offset a bit. I think I will be doing more of that to future paintings. This is also a looser handling of the oil than some of the other paintings. Her hands especially. And that’s ok…I am still just trying to find my way with each image.
