I have been hibernating the last two weeks.
I was a bit burned out. I felt I was still recovering from my workshop in Italy and then went right into a workshop last week in Asheville. So between those and a few new commissions, my mentorship classes and dabbling in watercolor I have been busy. So I retreated a bit. (No blog last week, sorry) I painted in the mornings before my studio got too hot, got back to meditation, picked up yoga again and then read books by the pool before the warm Carolina sun turns chilly.
But I also painted. A lot.
And finished the portrait of my grandson. Ah, chubby cheeks!
I have a few more portraits up my sleeve and am also delivering some commissions this weekend. Of course, there are always lots of ideas trying to get my attention long enough to get them into a tangible form, but new things will have to wait. This weekend I am traveling again. A wedding Saturday. A Memorial on Sunday. Highs and lows of life.
And I get to see both my daughters and my grandson this weekend too. We will get to dance at a traditional Indian wedding together and I am sure I will find new faces to paint.
I’ll be back to work next week.
