Who wants to paint in Paradise with me?
Next year from March 13-20th, 2027 I will be traveling to the country of Dominica in the Caribbean for the most pampered, exclusive and luxurious artist retreat. Lead by yours truly.
Why Dominica? Well, it is near where my daughter lives in Antigua and all of this has been recommended to me by our special host- my daughters’ father-in-law (his son married my daughter) who has lived on Dominica or on Antigua for the last 45 years. I have known him for over 30 years. He now runs a chocolate company from the cocoa sourced from the local farmers on Dominica. This Caribbean Willy-Wonka has offered to be our personal guide in the rainforest and to chat about his new chocolate business. Did I mention there is a rain forest?
Beyond painting each day, this is an all-inclusive retreat including all meals, yoga classes each day, meditation classes, spa treatments and a guided hiking trip to the stunning Victoria Falls. (see below) We will be staying at the luxurious Rosalie Resort which used to be the largest estate in the country for sugar, cocoa, limes and rum. Now Rosalie is considered an eco resort combining luxury and conservationalism by growing its own organic gardens and focusing on wildflife protection. Yes, that is a photo of the resort above in a sheltered cove directly on the beach. Transportation will be included to run around the area to paint and explore including turtle watching on Dominicas’ black sand beaches. (I have seen this before and it is amazing) Starting in March, three types of turtles come to Dominica to lay their eggs and we will be notified by the research scientists of “turtle watches.” We will even have a Caribbean cooking class and spa treatments at the spa. Included! The week will be spent on finding our focus on, well… relaxing, exploring nature and channeling our inner artists in the last raw and unspoiled island in the Caribbean. Many have never heard of Dominica and this is why- this not a trip to a commercially overun beach.
This workshop is open to all artists working in all mediums at all levels. Supplies are not included, but we will be packing light. I can help you plan ahead. Work in whatever medium you choose in this raw paradise. I can help with all of it.
Single King Bed Room Rate is $5100 for all meals, instruction, events, classes, spa treatments and events. Flights are not included. A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is due to hold a spot upon signup. I only have 4 spots left as of right now. (My mentorship students in Greenville got first dibs!) No refunds on cancellations after September, 2026. Partners are allowed to attend too and the hotel can accomodate that and any special dietary needs, so let me know and we can plan for that.
Is the Caribbean pricey? Yes. Will this be worth it? Yes. I know the world is on fire right now, but if you are looking for a beautiful reset to find your artistic self in the rawest of nature, I truly believe this is it. I hope you can join me.
